@McGracing Dawn Run won her first race at my home track (Tralee) in 1982. The racecourse is soon to be demolished. The anniversary of her gold cup is treated almost like a badge of honour for Tralee folk. It's where her story began.

Dawn Run’s Gold Cup win drew unbridled joy from most of us present at Cheltenham. Later, Jobroke cruised home in the County Hurdle to give Jonjo a double. 40 years on and one of Cork’s finest is still at it, landing this year’s County Hurdle in conjunction with sons AJ and Jonj.

The state of the comments section here. Racing is in a bad way with an aging fan base. God forbid you bring people in from outside of the bubble to try and reach a new audience and keep this amazing sport going! A few minute sequence for the non racing fan to try and entice new people to watch. Even this social media clip could get someone to engage with the sport, until they read the comments. 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
