Reducing the speed limit on National Secondary Roads from 100 km/h to 80 km/h was to reduce head-on collisions, which account for up to 45% of deaths on single-carriageway roads. At 80 km/h or more, head-on collisions are likely to be fatal, no matter what car you're driving.

To save & future-proof this, we sacrificed our house deposit. That’s gone. Do you know how hard it is to go home and tell your family that? But we can always make it back over time—that’s how much we believe in what we’ve built, we also sacrificed & closed our original restaurant, but if I look at where we were six years ago and where we are now, despite the backbreaking work, we’ve progressed so much. Gum shield in, gloves up, & here we are—still swinging. We’re only 2 years into a 15 year project There were moments that tested us, & I mean really fucking tested us, but we’re now on the other side, wiser & stronger. None of this would have been possible without our incredible team. They believed in us every step of the way, worked their hearts out during the busiest time of the year, & played an absolute blinder. No hesitation, no second-guessing—just pure grit. I love them. They deserve this pressure release. They’re what makes Big Mike’s Big Mike’s. But the proof is in the pudding. We know what needs to be done, and we’ll do it. Actions will always speak louder than words, and nobody can ever accuse us of not facing things head-on. Paul Merriman—his financial expertise, deep understanding of the numbers, and belief in what we’ve built have been game-changing. He gave us tough love when we needed it most and kept us on track. Here's the problem. I go to London for a few days and apparently at random my @AskAIB Visa debit card stops working. I have to phone to have it unfrozen. I can't phone in advance and say I'll be away. This is frankly bonkers! Happens regularly.
