@munakadri I have been screaming into the Twitter void about this for a while. The primary motive for returning kids to school right now is not for their wellbeing. It is a rushed attempt to reacpture "normalcy" for parents and the economy.

This has been the most hectic return to a full school opening that I have ever experienced.
The conversations largely aren’t about student wellbeing, they’re about securing bodies to supervise students.
This government is treating schools as warehouses for children.

You know, I thought I would be angry, or at least annoyed with the unvaxxed in ICU. But I’m not. Because as I walk around, seeing patient after patient on their bellies, fielding calls from worried family, analyzing ever worsening bloodwork, reading patients histories…

Person in Regina hospital. Crying. Dying.
"I should have had my shots. My wife had hers. She kept telling me to get mine. I'm going to die, aren't I?"
He spoke w/ family one last time before going to ICU. He told them he was so sorry.
He died 3 days later, alone.

This is my son Levi and he has been battling cancer for over 2 years. We are in the hospital 10 days/month + ED visits due to him being neutropenic post chemo. Think of him when you’re choosing your “freedom” over the vax. Because his life is worth more than your “freedom”. (1/3)

Update Aug 12, 2021. Yes, the 4th wave is here. Positive case speed signal for the past week, including the error bounds. As others have noted, hosp and ICU lag cases. Hosp are beginning to plateau, and the decline in ICU is slowing down. #GetVaccinated
