@JamaicaGleaner The hospital is a gift to Jamaica from the Chinese government after Portia Simpson lobbied the Chinese government. The JLP has absolutely nothing to do with the hospital.
Nobel laureate Tu Youyou discovered the malaria drug artemisinin after reading a 1,600-year-old Chinese medical text and realizing the herb had to be extracted cold, not boiled, paving the way for a treatment estimated to have saved tens of millions of lives.
The largest social movement in the Americas, Brazil's Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), is sending tons of medicine and seeds to Cuba, and asking people around the World to pressure their governments to send petroleum. My story for @telesurenglish
Massive geopolitical shift. A top Taiwanese official declares a new spring for cross-strait relations, emphasizing a desire to build mutual trust with Beijing. She explicitly states peace is also China's expectation, completely shattering Washington's warmongering narrative.
Why does NWC refuse to repair leaks on a timely basis? Why does the Govt allow NWC to conduct itself like a rogue public agency? When they happen to do repairs they leave the road all dug up with a little marl to fill the site of the repairs.
Europeans came to Africa and called this bug the Picasso bug. Meanwhile, the real name of this insect is iCikwa or the Zulu Hud bug, and it’s an African insect. They need to go to Europe and find Picasso’s grave there.
Waste is cradle to grave. How we treat with the waste we produce marks out our level of civility, collective cleanliness and environmental awareness.
I was disappointed, to say the least, that this right here was the sum total of the JLP’s 5 year take on Waste Management. The PNP trotted out a paragraph or 2 of bullet points. Even less than the JLP. Both of dem clueless. Just words on paper. No ways, no means, no timelines…
Three things are required: 1. Waste Infrastructure; 2. Behavioural Change; and 3. Proper Governance.
Jamaica has no landfills. No transfer stations (facility that holds waste temporarily). Very few receptacles for waste in towns and communities. Collections are irregular to non-existent. We have almost zero waste infrastructure. The government operates several public dumps. The People use any and everywhere as disposal for waste, in a word, nastiness in the public space is normative.
Cleanliness is Godliness. We have turned our back on cleanliness, Government and People. Nastiness is the dutty order of the day.
Sick tumuck!
Special mention to all the High Schools from out West especially that turned up to Champs despite the many post Hurricane Melissa challenges. Your courage and resilience did not go unnoticed. 🫡
Notice to All Argentina football fans They voted against the United Nations resolution that transatlantic Slave Trade was the gravest crime against humanity
NO SUPPORT this World Cup for Argentina . They treat black people there very bad too
The first time Trump bombs a hospital or kills babies in Cuba, those who support the bombings will blame the people being bombed. It's the same story we hear with Iran, Palestine, and everywhere else the U.S. says it's bringing "freedom" to.

A Nigerian man has reportedly won a court case against his ex-girlfriend after sponsoring her education with the understanding that they would get married after graduation.
According to the case, the lady’s family allegedly agreed to the arrangement before he took full responsibility for her schooling. But after she finished, she declined marriage, saying she was no longer interested.
The court ruled that while no one can be forced into marriage, there was a clear expectation and agreement, and her decision caused financial and emotional loss to the man.
She has now been ordered to pay ₦15 million in damages.
