@bet365 can we do a bet that VAR influences every #MUFC game from now until the end of the season?

🚨 Pep Guardiola asked who the best midfielder in the world is right now: “Declan Rice is exceptional.” “He gives you balance, control, power, leadership and defensive security.” “He can dominate transitions and physically he is one of the best midfielders in football.” “But if we are speaking about the complete influence on a game right now, for me it is Bruno Fernandes.” “What Bruno does offensively is on another level.” “He creates goals, scores goals, controls tempo and takes responsibility every single match.” “People always focus on flair, but the hardest thing in football is consistency.” “And Bruno produces every week.” “What impresses me most is that he can play in chaos.” “Some midfielders need the perfect structure around them.” “Bruno can still decide games even when Manchester United are struggling.” “That is a very rare quality.” “With Declan, you feel stability.” “With Bruno, you feel danger.” “And football at the highest level is decided by players who can change games in one moment.” “Right now, in terms of influence, creativity, leadership and productivity, I think Bruno Fernandes is the best midfielder in the world.” {@ManCityES }

Manchester United Fans need to calm down about Ederson.. Ederson is a good player, had many years of being good but this year has been bit up and down (hence the anger but also i think he plays in Serie A and some fans still hurting from the Hojlund signing) Basically a Tonali but cheaper, plays a lot of progressive forward passes, Physical and has an Engine. I don't think he will be the main Midfield signing so people need to calm down a little We cannot afford to buy Two PL Midfielders when we got a lot we need to fix, LB, Winger, Backup ST to name a few... Ederson is a good player and lets just all calm down its not a bad signing..
Ben Jacobs@JacobsBen

Talks are progressing between Manchester United and Atalanta for Ederson and progress has been made. No formal offer as of Friday morning but that could change relatively quickly. Ederson and #MUFC have discussed terms over a five-year contract.🇧🇷

All this BS about #ederson what he can and can't do. Do yourself a favour and look at his appearance stats for the last 3 seasons and come back to me.

Ederson might genuinely be the one signing almost the entire Manchester United fanbase agrees they do not want. No hype. No excitement. No buzz around him at all. Maybe that’s because nobody really knows him like that outside Serie A circles. No flashy comps. No social media propaganda. Just silence. Meanwhile INEOS and the Glazers have pushed the deal so far that Atalanta were reportedly ready to leave him out of a crucial game. That does not happen unless negotiations are deep. But now United suddenly look unsure about whether to go through with it. And that is the embarrassing part. This is not some random player United discovered last week. They have reportedly scouted Ederson for 2–3 years. So why does it suddenly feel like they are waiting for fan approval before making a decision? That is not how serious football clubs operate. Trust your scouts. Trust your recruitment team. Trust your football structure. Stop moving based on social media reactions. Because the same fanbase that is now doubting Ederson was hyping Onana and Ugarte like world class signings. Look how that turned out. Football decisions cannot be made off YouTube compilations and online excitement. If the club truly believes Ederson is the right player, sign him. If not, walk away. But this constant hesitation and panic over fan reaction is exactly why United keep looking lost in the market.

@stephenwjwebb @LiamPaulCanning Hes had a poor couple of seasons. Didnt make it into the world cup squad either. Warton would be a better signing for united or liverpool for that position

So much negative discourse on Ederson. For those who watch him regularly for Atalanta, what's the genuine consensus on the type of player he is?

I reckon City have Anderson done but won't announce it til after the WC, leaving United to scrabble about to get whatever midfielders are left as they want confirmation he is going there.

Very, very possible scenario could play out this week which leads to Bournemouth reaching the Champions League. - Aston Villa win the Europa League - Villa lose at Man City on Sunday - Liverpool beat Brentford at home - Bournemouth avoid defeat against Forest Crazy stuff.

If Anderson’s move to City comes down to players desire, that’s an easy pill to swallow. But if it’s because United are unwilling to bid as high as City, as Laurie Whitwell is hinting, it shows the hierarchy have learnt nothing from the Declan Rice case. Letting a midfielder of that calibre slip through your fingers to a rival because of money could come back to haunt us. They better hope the players we choose end up just as impactful for us as Anderson ends up for City.
Manchester United Forever@UtdForever7

🚨🆕 Manchester City are considered the clear front runners for Elliot Anderson with a fee in excess of £100m anticipated. Manchester United are UNLIKELY to bid that HIGH. #MUFC [@lauriewhitwell, @TheAthleticFC]

@Jenny_1884 It costs insurers so much more to get new customers instead of looking after their existing. Dont understand how these smart executives paid 6 figures at the top of these organisations can't figure this out

It’s really annoying when you get an insurance renewal quote & when you shop around manage to get it cheaper, then when you call your insurance company to say you’ve got a cheaper quote elsewhere they can miraculously match it or better it. Shouldn’t insurance companies just give you their best price in the first place for being loyal?

@__scottsaunders Hang on - if Villa win tonight, don’t the CL places drop to sixth? Which means it’s all on B’Mouth result and holding sixth. Have I misunderstood??

Carrick on Fernandes last night: ‘You all see the headlines with his creativity and performance he puts in to be consistent. It’s also how he lives his life. We try and give him a day off and every day he comes in. He’s always at breakfast before me, eating scrambled eggs before me!’ #mufc

Last year I had 2 new tyres fitted to my van - £126. Today I had two new tyres fitted to the same van, same garage, same make of tyre - £165. 30% increase in one year. Diesel is up 35% since a couple of months ago. My van insurers want an extra £120 this year. I'm a Decorator and all the paint I use has had TWO price increases each year for the past few years. Some now costs approximately TWICE what it cost 6 years ago. Some trade paint is now over £100 for 5 litres. Yes it's better than cheap crap but that's a ridiculous price. But I'm just one bloke trying to earn a living. Millions are in the same boat as me. They can give you stories about the price of timber, plasterboard, electrical fittings, roof tiles and everything else they have to buy. Everything appears to be getting more difficult for everyone. In years gone by we didn't all have to worry about the cost of putting the heating on or how much we paid for the water that came out of our taps. We do now. We didn't have to search the shelves in the supermarkets for the cheapest (inferior) alternatives and we didn't get utterly ripped off when paying for parking in town centres. Our Council Tax bills, (or Rates as it used to be called), were equal to a small proportion of our income. And we got the bins emptied every week. We could actually buy rounds in the pub - Remember THAT? Many millions of people who frequented pubs can't afford to go there any more. Their village pub is probably shut now anyway. Our public services are overstretched. The NHS is ALWAYS on it's knees. Our roads are falling to bits. Parents can't get their kids into their local schools. Many people in villages, towns and cities are frightened to go out alone (or at all) due the numbers of undesirables roaming the streets and our parks. But it's OK. We're the Worlds 5th largest economy apparently and therefore a "rich" country compared to many. Perhaps that's why we can afford to give away ONE THOUSAND MILLION POUNDS every MONTH to countries who don't share our good fortune, or our wonderful public services or our national contentment in knowing we're nearly at the top of the tree. Is it any wonder that hundreds of thousands of people are just saying "bollocks to this" and either stopping work or buggering off to live somewhere else? My advice to any young person would be - Go! It might not work out for you but at least you've had a try, probably had some fun, learnt a lot about yourself and the World and maybe met someone you can share your life with. You can always come back again and help the local council empty the bins every 3 weeks.

Hi @GNev2 seeing as you won't shut up about it: no handball, goal correctly allowed. If the contact order had been arm first or clearly unnatural/deliberate, it would’ve been different, but that’s not what happened. Hip/thigh contact first, then rebound to arm. That sequence means no deliberate handling & no “unnatural” enlargement in the way the law defines it, introduced to avoid penalising accidental rebounds. VAR’s clear & obvious error threshold also applies - if it’s not instantly obvious (& Michael Salisbury) didn’t see it as a foul), so the goal stands. It is your job to know this by the way.. so you can educate viewers.
Adam@AdamJoseph

Nobody deserved that decision to go against what they wanted more than Gary Neville. What he's become is a disgrace compared to what he was. Shameless bellend needs to go fuck himself if we're being honest about it.
