Making a playlist “Ladies of the 80s” songs from the 80s, sung by a woman, that would make you down your drink and head to the dance floor. What should I have?

@nico1e I just logged in, and the tweet is right at the top! You write so well that it gets reactions... mostly supportive and sweet (like you deserve), but it seems like some people couldn't scroll past your words :)

Remember that time when I sent a tweet expecting 40 people in my circles to see it but forgot that I’m actually a really good writer-storyteller & then it went semi viral & I started getting a whole lot of unsolicited tone deaf advice from strangers? Yeah. That was fun. 😂😩🤷🏻‍♀️

@_Ms_J @sosopolitical @gthielmann @ls_gibson I share your frustration! I would love to see/hear other options. MyEd is not in line with the RO. I use MyEd, as we are highly encouraged to do "continuous reporting" for parents and students. In 8-9, I make my own "special codes", but need help for 10-11

@_Ms_J 100% agree with you! I'd like more scope and sequence for 9-12 courses.

@_Ms_J I do a big inquiry in Grade 11 SS, but they still need LOTS of scaffolding and direction. I label it as inquiry, but it is still quite guided research. My goal is to prepare them for post-secondary assignments (most are headed in that direction).

@nico1e @BCECTA Details that you can "buy back" your pension - although it could also be local specific. Generally, newer teachers are ones also possibly starting families or taking various leaves, so it's good to know those details

Question! If @BCECTA wants to develop a Pensions workshop AND (separately) a Finances for New Teachers’ workshop, what should we include? We’re in the process of lesson-planning for our stock workshops. Happy & grateful if anyone wants to collaborate on new ideas too

Inquiry inquiry inquiry! Lots of work, always worth it. ScHum (socials) 11 students made graphic organizers after LOTS of research (&annotated bibliography). Presentations and reflection followed. More examples to come #bced

For Social Studies students, moving from proficient to extending requires coffee grounds or tea bags, and definitely burnt edges.

Inquiry is a teaching stance that, when done well, utilizes a variety of techniques, structures, & protocols. If ever students are overwhelmed & uncertain, these techniques, structures, & protocols should be examined. Striking a balance, being reflective & responsive are key.

@bcedchat A6: probably piles of marking. I usually leave it until the end of the break, and regret that every year! Then I can be present with my family, take some naps and read some books :) #bcedchat

@CraigMah @bcedchat A bit of both! My own kids have been under the weather, which is hard to manage when teaching full time, and we've had lots of students way. Constant catch up mode.
