@zahei13 @stephtriefus It's shocking because in all Romania media and politician there was a rumour that we will lose this. Even our PM, annouced it. After that ,the shares of Gabriel Resouce went high up on canadian stock exchange. Today, I suspect that it is a case of stock exchange manipulation.

We know very little about the reasoning at the moment, but the orders show that one of the arbitrators dissented in some capacity, and the award is 360 pages long.

This speculation has led to discussions about restarting gold and silver exploitation in Rosia Montana, which would have been blatant regulatory chill and that would have reignited public protest against the social and environmental harms of the project.

All we know so far is that the majority tribunal rejected Gabriel's claims on the merits. Gabriel must pay Romania's arbitration costs and a portion of their legal costs. Romania wants full publication of the award within 20 days.
