This is the scene outside Daisy Hill station in Westhoughton, where a burst water main appears to have caused damage off Leigh Road. No trains are running at the station for much of today and the road has been taped off. @MENnewsdesk

Another neighbour living close to the scene said: “We didn’t hear anything, we just woke up and saw the cordon and the police car there. I just thought it must have been an assault or something with the police tape being there.” @MENnewsdesk

Police have now left the scene after several hours. One neighbour told me: “When I got up earlier this morning the police were there, about 6.15am. I didn’t hear any noise whatsoever, I’ve not a clue [what happened].” @MENnewsdesk

The tape is now being removed from Deepdale Community Centre. @MENnewsdesk

There is one police car currently in attendance, with a cordon in place outside the building. GMP says a ‘rape investigation’ has been launched, but further details are yet to be confirmed. @MENnewsdesk
