I could reread this whole series from Yuno’s perspective and enjoy it like it was new. His development was extremely fun and interesting to watch. Tabata did an exceptional job showcasing how the manifestation of magic is directly linked to the mage’s personality and psychological disposition. Yuno had no idea that he was having an identity crisis that was due to events that he couldn’t help. When he obtained his actual grimoire and was told that his second soul is him but there’s another part of him that has its own power it really set him above the story for me. And right after Bell even acknowledges that she feels like she’s finally met the real Yuno. My favorite thing Tabata did to push Yuno into his true identity was how StarxWind Saint Stage is illustrated. He gets a double crown to represent his respective magics but the Star crown is the larger crown as the original wind crown decreases in size. It’s a magical manifestation that shows us that he is Yuno, the rightful Prince of the Spade Kingdom.
