Today marks the final day of the 2026 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly! Much has been accomplished. The Governor had 36 vetoes, we overrode all of them.

Hardin County is set to receive more than $116 million in investments supporting infrastructure, public safety, workforce training, and community development. Proud to work with my colleagues to help deliver these important investments for our community. #HardinCounty #KYGA

The Kentucky General Assembly has passed the FY 2026 to 2028 state budget. It includes investments in K 12 education, school safety, pay raises for state employees, and Next Generation 911 services. The budget now heads to the Governor’s desk. #KYGA #Kentucky

Yesterday I voted on SJR 139, which names several Kentucky highways in honor of individuals who made a lasting impact. The resolution includes the Staff Sgt. Benjamin Pennington Memorial Highway and naming a highway after Charlie Kirk. Honoring service and contributions matter.

As a former first responder, I spoke today in support of SB 104. Kentuckians have the right to protest peacefully. At the same time, our police, firefighters, EMTs, and National Guard members must be able to do their jobs safely when responding to emergencies. Help protect both.

This morning I presented the Respiratory Care Interstate Compact in a Senate committee. The bill was amended to include the Athletic Trainer and Dietitian interstate compacts. The legislation now heads to the Senate floor.

HB 644 has passed committee and is headed to the House floor today. This bill creates the Kentucky General Assembly Medal of Distinction to recognize acts of heroism and extraordinary service. Proud to move this forward for Kentucky. 🇺🇸 #KYG

An estimated 12,000 Kentucky veterans live with TBI, and expanding treatment options is critical to supporting those who served. A new program in Kentucky is helping veterans with traumatic brain injuries access Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and other support services.

Attended a legislative briefing from the Kentucky National Guard this week. I wanted to thank Maj. Gen. Hal Lamberton and the entire KYNG team for your leadership and service. Also, very GRATEFUL for the men & women who stand ready to serve both our Commonwealth and our nation.

Great to know the President will be visiting Kentucky today. It is always a big moment when our Commonwealth gets time with the POTUS. Wish I could have been in Hebron to welcome him and meet with those attending the event.

HB 364 passed the House unanimously yesterday. This bill establishes Commonwealth Emergency Response Pay for Kentucky National Guard members when they are activated to serve the Commonwealth. The legislation now moves to the Senate for consideration.

Yesterday, HB 455 has officially passed the House. This bill ensures #AI cannot be used as the sole method of mental health treatment. Technology can assist care, but it must never replace licensed professionals and real human connection. Patient protection comes first.

When we talk about legislation, the question I always ask is how it impacts families back home.

Grateful to see Gov. Ron DeSantis in Kentucky today advocating for a federal Balanced Budget Amendment. $38T in debt is not sustainable. Most states must balance their budgets. Washington should too. Fiscal responsibility matters. 🇺🇸
