During the Economic Debates Series Breakfast Meeting, @ZIMCODD1 Executive Director @jmaketo stressed the need for a people-centred monetary policy framework that responds to the lived realities of ordinary citizens. While macroeconomic indicators may point to stabilisation, high interest rates, exchange-rate pressures and structural dollarisation continue to burden small-scale farmers, informal traders and low-income households. Farmers remain constrained by limited access to affordable seasonal finance, fair payment systems and agricultural inputs. ZIMCODD maintains that monetary stability must go beyond inflation and exchange-rate management. It must translate into improved livelihoods, productive borrowing, food sovereignty and inclusive economic participation for all.
