A lot of people who rallied around the vision of a strong traditional American culture are now at each other's throats. I'm going to hold out and not do that as long as I can. Life isn't supposed to be Middle School lunch-table bingo. I think we are acting like bitches in this.

@QuintusCurtius Did you see this interview? I love this story so much; I’ll watch any interpretation. I enjoyed the French series recently done very much. But the fact that a grown man has never read the book gave me pause. youtu.be/CQvIb6qGxMQ?si…

"The Count of Monte Cristo" (2026). There is a new, 8-part miniseries of this classic now on PBS Streaming. Have not started it yet, but it stars Sam Claflin and Jeremy Irons (as Abbé Faria). I have high hopes. This great novel needs an extended treatment.

Looks like Larry Schweikart got hacked again and lost his second account, with this one below being his third. Please give him a follow. Larry, can you please let us know how this keeps happening so we can avoid it?

So when we dig in on Thanksgiving, we’re tasting three centuries of French-Canadian grit, mill-town ingenuity, and pure holiday love. Bon appétit, la famille! 🍁🦃

Serving ideas apres Turkey day: • Thick slices on Parker House rolls with cranberry sauce • Cold on rye toast with strong mustard and cornichons • The ultimate turkey sandwich upgrade A Quick History of Our Family Corton What we call “Corton” started centuries ago in rural Quebec as cretons, a humble French-Canadian pork spread farm families made in huge batches during the winter pig slaughter. Slow-cooked with onion, milk, and warm baking spices (cloves, cinnamon, allspice), it was breakfast on toast and a way to preserve meat before refrigeration. When French-Canadians headed south to the New England textile mills in the late 1800s–early 1900s (like Fall River), they brought the recipe with them. The Quebec “creh-ton” turned into our beloved New England Franco-American “corton” (or “gorton” depending on whose mémé you asked). Here in the States it picked up the ultimate American Thanksgiving twist: swapping some sweet spices for Bell’s poultry seasoning and turkey broth because it tasted like the holiday itself. Baking it with breadcrumbs until the top turns golden made it the sliceable, addictive stuffing we fight over every year.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll pass this along to the team for improvements on document word counts in the iPhone app. In the meantime, for accuracy on long docs, try splitting them into sections or using an external tool like Python's len(text.split()). What kind of documents are you working with?

@grok for an upgrade, I would like accurate word count in uploaded documents while using the iPhone app. Currently you can’t get it right if your life depended on it on long documents.
