🚨 so let me get this straight.. this morning Trump announced he's halting attacks on Iran.. someone made $1.5 billion trading on that news 5 minutes before the announcement.. and now tonight.. the Pentagon is weighing deployment of airtroops to Iran.. so the "peace" that someone made $1.5 billion off of.. lasted about 12 hours.. the pause was never peace.. it was a window.. long enough for someone to collect.. short enough for the war machine to reload.. they halted the attacks just long enough for the markets to move.. and now the troops are going in anyway.. you're not watching geopolitics.. you're watching a trade.

2/2 Then we come to today. This horrible match is built up into a frenzy by so much of the media - ‘The best derby in the world’, ‘Bigger than any other game’, and ‘Whoever loses today faces an awful rest of the season’ etc etc. We’re talking the likes of Clyde SuperScoreboard (& the Mouthpiece in Chief Hugh Keevins), the Daily Record/Sun and their fanboy journalists, Sky (with the horrendous Chris Sutton and Kris Boyd who wind up the fans of the other ‘erse cheeks’ with incendiary comments every week), Premier Sports etc etc etc. The are all guilty of hyping this incendiary fixture to ridiculous levels which leaves little in the way of room for normality at the end when one team loses. Significant numbers of fans from both these clubs are to blame for the horrendous scenes we saw at the end. Celtic fans invading the pitch to goad their hosts, then home fans reacting and attacking players and even launching pyro at the opposition. Somehow the police and stewards managed to regain control but God help the many good people of Glasgow who are in danger of experiencing an awful 24 hours as these idiots take their ridiculous sectarian violence into the streets (I’ve already messaged my daughter to warn her to stay safe in her flat in Dennistoun tonight and not to go out). Both these clubs should be properly punished. If it was up to me I’d throw the book at them starting with both of them playing in empty stadiums for their next few league matches (though that would punish the innocent fans of whoever they are playing so possibly not ideal) but until they are properly punished with points deductions or closed stadiums, self policing from the rest of their support will not happen. Of course proper punishment is extremely unlikely as the authorities are too scared of these two clubs. They’ll no doubt just get a slap on the wrist. To football fans from elsewhere who watched this today - neither of these clubs represent Scottish football - they just represent themselves and their ridiculous beliefs that are based on historical nonsense from hundreds of years ago. Taking it back to football - I now want Hearts to win the league more than ever - and any of Falkirk, Dunfermline, Thistle or St Mirren to win the Scottish Cup. Neither of these two clubs on show today deserve anything from this season. Rant over.

@mrewanmurray @GerryHassan You’re right Ewan. But you also know that - sadly - the football public / media outside Scotland don’t give a monkey’s about games involving any of those Clubs. The focus is only on 2 Clubs & so they become the face of our game whether we like that or not

This is the end of the ultras bullshit at both sides of this city. All those who have defended and encouraged all manner of bad behaviour from ultras are also to blame to for these outrageous scenes. That includes club executives. My thoughts with the cops having to deal with it.
