@SLsees This bill #HB300 is going to create long lines at polling places across #UT that make the line outside a new @swigdrinks in Orem look like a breeze. Utahns don't want that. They want vote-by-mail the way we have i nowt. #utpol #utleg

It's Wednesday morning. 8:33am. The sun is out. I'm at my desk at Planned Parenthood of Utah @ppacutah We are getting back to work... ...because our motto "Care, No Matter What" has never mattered more than now. #indefatigable #utpol

If you want to discover the latest mind-bending idea from @jasonrohrer (my brother-in-law), check out this @outsidemagazine article about his "Project Skyfall" treasure hunt in New England. The digital/physical search launched this week.
Alex Heard@alexheard

Is this Forrest Fenn 2? Fascinating story in @outsidemagazine about a new and elaborate treasure hunt created by a video game designer named Jason Rohrer. (h/t @frickwright cc @flantz) outsideonline.com/outdoor-advent…

War is peace... Freedom is slavery... Ignorance is strength.. ...and the Amendment D ballot language (as written by #utleg leadership) means the opposite of reality. It takes power away from the people of #UT. Vote No on D. #CheatToWin
Lindsay Aerts@LindsayOnAir

#BREAKING: Here's the first look at the language of Amendment D proposing to change Utah's constitution on who can repeal citizen ballot initiatives. A vote for the amendment means that you want Utah's Constitution to grant the legislature the ability to repeal any citizen-led ballot measure and ban foreign (out of country) money from being used to promote ballot measures. You would also get laws that are easier to repeal and a condition that the legislature must follow the intent of the initiative. A vote against the amendment would mean Utah's constitution should not change -- that it's citizens right to reform their government. A vote against would only allow the legislature the ability to change a government reform citizen-led ballot measure if those changes are narrowly tailored and for a compelling government interest. @KSL5TV #utpol

Pink post-it notes are the new fig leaves in #UT. "Each of the displayed posters had pink sticky notes covering certain words Ivory feared might make the selections too “obscene” to legally show in public." #utleg #utpol @KUER kuer.org/education/2024…

@thesidetrack @Deseret Not to mention allowing this bonkers statement about funding for Medicaid expansion to go unchecked. What 'special interest group' money? The federal matching funds... or the sales tax increase that #UT voters approved? BTW: The Medicaid exp. fund began 2024 with a $297M balance

If @Deseret had a goal of informing the public, not just amplifying Adams and Schultz, this is a failed attempt. Missing: The Supreme Court ruling and what it actually said, and the *fact* #utleg can ban foreign money without amending the Constitution #utpol
Utah House Majority@utahhousereps

If Utahns want to control the state’s destiny, we can’t let big-money special interests run roughshod over our values. These groups want to write Utah law and fundamentally change the state. #utpol Read: deseret.com/politics/2024/…

Planned Parenthood Action of Utah has been *unrelenting* in standing up for women's reproductive rights in a state whose leaders don't believe they should have any. That Utah women still have access to abortion more than TWO YEARS after Dobbs is a monument to @ppacutah. #UTpol

BREAKING: Today, the Utah Supreme Court rejected Utah’s request to overturn the preliminary injunction blocking SB 174, the state’s near-total abortion ban, from taking effect. This decision means that abortion care continues to remain legal in Utah up to 18 weeks of pregnancy!
