@steventrafford@The_Dassler Mate I was fuming still pissed I didn’t get the New York in a size 10
Can’t get them anywhere now
Managed to get the hoodie, bag and Lawton from end at 9 the next morning
Let's have a talk about adidas Spezial
If you want
Or more specially, let's address how shoddily the range is presented and sold through the adidas stores and Confirmed App
Personal opinions about the designs, colours, and overall desirability of the collections change just like the seasons
Some of you find the latest SPZL range boring. Some of you find it pretty decent, and some of you find it neither here nor there. Basically, the same as what happens with every Spezial drop
But with the opening of the store in Manchester, after numerous mishaps at Carnaby Street, and with the Confirmed App centre to the frustrations, let's delve deeper than just whether it looks good or not
Every drop is only ever announced by curator Gary Aspden, in a coordinated effort with retailers and adidas themselves. In 2025, announcing premium ranges valued at thousands of pounds in RRP, with next to no notice, is there any need for it? More notice would mean it can be planned and saved for, as many people who wear the Mod Trefoil have done, and will continue to do so, using Klarna, Clear Pay, the credit card, any means necessary to secure 300 quid jackets on a weeks notice
It should be noted that it isn't just Spezial that drops on short notice, but it is carefully curated as we are often reminded
But the real issue lies with the store events and even just trying to buy the items
To attend a store event, you must use the Confirmed App to procure a ticket. Then arrive hours before time, to queue and give yourself a chance to purchase what you would like, as these events are hugely popular, and this is all seemingly normal in practice
Yet the stores have next to no stock for these events. You haven't much chance of getting what you would like
This is not helped by having "VIPs" walk up five minutes before time and are allowed access to the store by themselves, right in front of everyone else who has had to queue for hours, and maybe buying the only pair of that size, or smock in a certain size, but it's sparse pickings to begin with
This means someone who has had to get a ticket through the Confirmed App, (which knows what size the attendee is, plus could easily ask what items would be potentially bought), spends hours in a queue to miss out
A combination of terrible stock levels at the adidas store, and also favoured access to product
Then, when items are listed to go online, they are, of course, exclusive to the Confirmed App
Which is a laggy, buggy, diabolical mess of an app that is used to sell the most desired products the brand offers
There is no published list of stockists, and it changes with each seasonal offering, but it can be quite hard work shopping for SPZL pairs, made no easier by the brand
There are no reliable sizings charts produced any more, and coupled with no product being seeded (except to famous people who don't communicate with the riff raff that's expected to buy the range), means no sizing help is offered by the brand, or the team that curates it
Is it time for adidas Spezial to have its own accessible section on the general adidas App?
Where images can be loaded instead of relying on an Instagram account to put the word out. Where pit to pit sizes amongst other measurements could be added BEFOREHAND, so people have a clue what is the actual size of the garment they're being asked to spend hundreds of pounds on
There has to be evolution, surely. I have seen far too many people attending events, having to leave feeling frustrated and upset at both Fouberts Place in London and now the adidas Manchester store
It's a premium range inspired by history. Where will its place be remembered in history in the years to come?
Something you tapped on a screen for, or something you went and bought at an event
Give folk a chance, prioritise the store launch stockpiles
And fuck off the VIPs, you want to attend an event, get in the queue like everyone else
Let's have a conversation about adidas Spezial
If you want
@ormyman1976@The_Dassler Queued up with you mate and you disappeared at the shop door. I agree 100%. It was the first time I’d gone to a shop release and to have a choice of nothing was piss poor. The only saving grace was the podcast.
@The_Dassler I was at the front with my autistic son we where at the front in Manchester when the woman came out and said there were no caps bags etc and only small clothing sizes available. Utter pisstake . He just wanted a hoodie and a pair of NY2. Fucked it off
Fuming
Upcoming??
adidas Spezial FC × Arsenal ZX 7500
Images have appeared, of a sample of adidas SPZL, and by linking up with adidas Football partners Arsenal, they would be popular

Flannels have ranged both the LG and NG pair
They have kept it to in-store sales only, and do you know why?
23% mark up is applied as they are selling at £135
I have seen a lot of talk recently about retailers selling at resell value
Well, that time has come, it is here
Insane from you @flannelsfashion 🤮

🚨 KEANE'S LOST IT 🚨
He went to a place we've never seen before. He's good friends with Ian Wright, but nobody was safe from the rampage. Everyone else looked powerless! 😳🤯
@transportgovuk@LilianGreenwood The cars themselves are £10,000 more than petrol. Cheaper to run only if you charge overnight at home on specific energy suppliers. Public charging way too expensive. Plus now you’re adding road tax from April. I’ve tried it for 3 years and I’m switching back.

Have you considered an Electric Vehicle?
Industry research suggests that they are often cheaper to run than a petrol or diesel car, with lower maintenance and repair costs.
If you're ready to make the switch to an EV, you could save up to £750 a year 👇
