ASSYRIA TODAY ܐܬܼܘܪ ܝܘܡܢܐ
✨THE ORIGINS AND CREATION OF THE ASSYRIAN FLAG  💙🤍❤️ Following the establishment of the Assyrian Universal Alliance in 1968, a historic mission began to create an official national flag for the Assyrian people — a symbol that would represent their identity, heritage, unity, and enduring spirit across the world. To fulfill this vision, the AUA called upon Assyrian artists, historians, and intellectuals worldwide to submit designs and ideas for this important national emblem. Many proposals were received from across the globe and carefully reviewed before being presented to the AUA Congress. After extensive deliberation, one design emerged as the clear choice — a powerful blend of ancient Assyrian symbolism and modern national identity. 🇺🇸 In 1973, during the 6th AUA Congress held in Yonkers, New York, the design was officially adopted as the Assyrian national flag. The flag was created by renowned Assyrian Christian artist George Bit Atanus of Tehran, Iran, whose vision masterfully connected the glory of ancient Assyria with the hopes and aspirations of the Assyrian people today. ✨ Meaning & Symbolism The flag features a white background symbolizing peace and purity. At its center stands a four-pointed blue star surrounding a golden circle representing Shamash, the ancient Assyrian sun god believed to be the giver of life. ☀️ The blue points of the star symbolize tranquility, harmony, and hope. Flowing outward from the center are three wavy stripes representing the great rivers of Assyria: 💙 Euphrates — abundance and prosperity 🤍 Great Zab — peace and unity ❤️ Tigris — courage and Assyrian national pride These flowing rays also symbolize the Assyrian diaspora spread across the four corners of the world, while their connection to the center reflects the unbreakable bond to the ancestral homeland and the hope of reunification. 🦅 Above the star appears the sacred emblem of Ashur, the supreme Assyrian deity, portrayed with outstretched wings, a drawn bow, and an arrow ready to fly — symbolizing strength, protection, and resilience. The design closely follows ancient Assyrian artwork preserved in the British Museum. 👑 Crowned above the flag is the royal insignia of the legendary Assyrian king Sargon II, representing the greatness and achievements of the Assyrian civilization throughout history. Today, the Assyrian flag stands not only as a national symbol, but as a timeless reminder of Assyrian history, identity, perseverance, and unity. 💙🤍❤️ ✍️ Based on writings by Homer Ashurian History & Cultural Director Assyrian Universal Alliance (1999) #Assyrian #Assyria #AssyrianFlag #AssyrianHistory #Mesopotamia #Ashur #SargonII #Shamash #AssyrianCulture #AssyrianHeritage #AssyrianPride #AncientCivilizations

This is a serious concern. Police had intelligence about an accused Bondi terrorist years before the attack. A Jewish security group warned authorities about Naveed Akram in 2019. Listen to the details HERE. 🎧omny.fm/shows/ben-ford…🎧

ISIS supporters just swarmed one of Australia’s main airports to welcome the return of ISIS members to Australia. ISIS supporters - thugs dressed in all black - outnumbered police presence at the airport. My God. The left have totally fucking wrecked Australia.

🇸🇦 One of the World's Oldest Churches from the 4th Century in Saudi Arabia. ⛪️ The Jubail Church, discovered by chance in 1986, is a historic site belonging to the Nestorian tradition (Church of the East) and is considered one of the oldest surviving church structures in the world, dating back to the 4th century. Located near the city of Jubail in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia along the Gulf, the structure was built by Christian communities and clergy active along the trade routes between Mesopotamia and the Gulf, likely including local populations under the cultural influence of the Lakhmid Kingdom that dominated the region at the time. Constructed of mud-brick among the desert dunes, the church features clearly visible carved cross motifs on its walls; the site serves as one of the most concrete architectural proofs of the region's rich pre-Islamic religious diversity and the presence of an extensive episcopal network that once spread along the Gulf coast.

Today is Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day. We remember 1.5M Armenians, 500K Greeks & 300K Assyrians murdered by the Ottoman Empire. A tragedy meant to erase a people that failed. It didn’t break them, instead it forged them. Today, their descendants lead, build, and rise across the world. Future looks bright!

A scary datapoint on Ottoman genocide. If it weren't for the Assyrian Genocide, there would be 10-25 million Assyrians today. Today they are a scattered 2-4m. HALF their population was killed! It would have been a Christian Middle East. Not even counting Armenians & Greeks. - @AramaicWire
