my mentor made $2.3M trading and taught me something that changed everything
wasn't some soft "follow your system" bullshit
it was about ASYMMETRY (keep reading this is actual sauce)
this man cleared $200k months like it was nothing. sat in a $40M penthouse in miami. drove cars i'd only seen in movies. but he'd say "i'm wrong more than i'm right, i just win bigger when i'm right"
"63 trades last month. won 24. lost 39."
"wait you lost more trades than you won?"
"yeah and made $340k. why do you think win rate matters?"
he'd show me his losing trades like trophies. "see this? lost $4k. see this one? lost $6k. this one? $3k. boring small losses."
then he'd show me winners. "$67k. $43k. $89k."
"same setup every time. small when wrong. massive when right."
meanwhile you common folk are celebrating your 70% win rate while your account stays flat because you're:
- cutting winners at 1R (scared of giving back profit)
- letting losers run to 2R (hoping it comes back)
- optimizing for being RIGHT not being RICH
this is why you're easy to kill in trading
you're trying to be ACCURATE when you need to be ASYMMETRIC
trading decision? you want to be right so you take profit early. your competition lets that same trade run 5R while you're celebrating your "win" that made you $200
"but what if it reverses?"
THEN YOU TAKE ANOTHER TRADE YOU FUCKING MORON
difference is the $2.3M guy takes 10 losses at $3k each (-$30k) then one winner at $80k (net +$50k)
you take 10 wins at $1k each (+$10k) then one loss at $15k because you couldn't accept being wrong (net -$5k)
same number of trades
same "setup"
opposite results
asymmetry beats accuracy EVERY FUCKING TIME
the ASYMMETRY principle applies to everything:
risk management? don't try to be right, try to lose small
targets? don't try to be right, try to be consistent
psychology? don't try to feel good, try to execute properly
here's the truth: your best educated SMALL LOSS right now beats your perfect trade that you held too long
because while you're trying to be right, killers are getting PAID. while you're protecting winners at 1R, they're catching 5R runners. while you're averaging 70% accuracy, they're averaging 300% returns.
23 losses out of 39 trades. $340k profit.
that's the game.
stop trying to be right
start trying to be asymmetric
your mentor wants you to feel accurate
i want you to be RICH
they're different goals
now cut that next loss at 1R and let the next winner breathe
that's how $2.3M gets made
(btw if you’re tired of being on the wrong side of the markets, i broke down the process i use to trade inside my free Discord. Link in bio.
and if you want me to build it out with you directly and you aren't broke, i take on a small number of 1 on 1 clients-> DM me)

@joker_szn This is exactly it. The system is the easy part, the hard part is not overriding it when you're emotional.
Guardrails help bridge that gap until the discipline catches up.
We built automated risk guardrails for this exact reason
