@saucycup So glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t think that’s horrible casting
English

@saucycup Omgggg okay okay I don’t wanna give any impressions beforehand but if is definitely a Movie
English

@theoreticalemo Crazy cuz I had the same thing happen yesterday and almost quit on the spot

@HoernerMVP If you’re only glancing at his slash line or talking about his defense alone I’d agree with you. But all of his hitting stats which are weighted to league average (OPS+, wOBA, WRC+, etc) are below 100. Maybe by next June those will be at 105/110 and this debate will be over 🤷🏻♂️
English

@HoernerMVP This isn’t an objectively good player, and what 22 year old would you expect to be one when he has just about a year of MLB service time? He’s consistently improved and is already a brilliant defender 4 or 5 years before most rookies become good major leaguers. Both can be true

@ZellerZelle18 @wanny_moob @NortonMpls I think that would definitely be the best direction to go in. When I patronize businesses there or when my friends who live there take me out, it’s usually to small businesses which have character and flavor – Baba’s, Bulldog, Caffeto, etc.
English

@wanny_moob @stewfart2 @NortonMpls That's an interesting point. Maybe the future for Uptown is more neighborhood-based niche businesses like The Bulldog, French Meadow, etc. I don't know. I don't go there anymore very much so I'm not sure what would thrive there.
English

@ZellerZelle18 @wanny_moob @NortonMpls If the case was that people were coming from the burbs and that is what made Uptown vibrant, then wouldn’t the issue be that people from the burbs are now projecting their racialized viewpoint of “the city” and choosing not to come? Sounds like something Uptown can’t control
English

Yeah, there probably still are restaurants, but people used to go to Uptown and hang out all night - and bar hop, see movies/shows, and shop. It was like a more artsy version of downtown. People would come to Uptown from the burbs to hang out and spend money.
I think it's also hard for bars to survive in Uptown because it's in a zone that requires more food to be sold than alcohol. So people have to go there planning to stay and hang out for them to survive. At least it used to be that way.
English

@ZellerZelle18 @wanny_moob @NortonMpls Having more cops in uptown won’t make it safer. Cops don’t make neighborhoods safer. As far as I can tell, there are still a lot of great restaurants and a great night life all the way down Lyndale from 94 to 31st
English

@wanny_moob @stewfart2 @NortonMpls The scariest part is that the conditions can change quickly. It can go from feeling really safe to very scary quickly. I think that's why people avoid it.

@LFCTransferRoom Looked like his prime self today. Taking chances, driving at players with speed and tenacity, found the right passes when the shot wasn’t there. Gotta be honest I wasn’t sure he had more of his prime play left in him…based on today that is very wrong
English

@ZellerZelle18 @NortonMpls I work in uptown as a pizza delivery driver. Every night of the week there are people coming in and out of restaurants and bars (CC Club, Bulldog, Wrecktangle just to name a few). All the “crimes” I’ve seen are cops harassing homeless folks and car accidents
English

@NortonMpls Uptown needs to reinvent itself, rather than trying to pretend it's still the same as it used to be. Because it's not.

Thought the weird static stuttering of Ep 18 of Twin Peaks: The Return was simply a part of @paramountplus being terrible…turns out it is just David Lynch
English

@LFCTransferRoom *you know Liverpool football is back when we let a relegation-level team settle into a game and we don’t have a single shot on target throughout the first half…
English

@LFCTransferRoom They already betrayed him by waiting till August to try and sign at the one position that every supporter agreed we needed to sign someone. Terrible planning and terrible execution of a summer that should’ve been full of signings and support for the new manager
