I thought I would find #Breathtaking upsetting. Instead it has just brought back my anger, mainly at Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock. Johnson was the worst possible leader for this sort of crisis.

@implausibleblog @SimonPease1 I bet Johnson, Hancock, Sunak &co don't watch it- although they damned well should! @RishiSunak Pay the NHS staff what they deserve, they sacrificed so much to try and preserve life against all odds without even the basics of sufficient PPE, oxygen, testing etc available.

If you watched ITV's #Breathtaking and do not support pay restoration for doctors and nurses, shame on you And shame on the Conservative gov for underfunding the NHS, bringing it to its knees And shame on the Conservative gov who prioritised PPE VIP lanes, profiteering ahead of public health And shame on Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak who partied during covid restrictions, both, fined by the police The worst people in office at the worst time. How many lives would be saved had we had leaders who cared, who followed the science, and who put public health first. Shame on them

I've no reason to doubt the provenance of this note from a Shropshire NHS Trust, but I genuinely wish it was fake. Short-sighted doesn't even begin to describe my outrage at this callous approach to staff and patient safety. Have we learned nothing? I only hope it's not UK wide💔

We’re quite happy to look back and criticise the Government’s response to Covid during 2020, but why do we accept their response to it in 2024? We’ve an increasingly disabled population getting infected over and over again with no air filtration and next to no vaccine coverage🤷‍♂️

Today's episode of #Breathtaking on @ITV featuring the extraordinary @doctor_oxford reminded me of the true heroes in our society - the NHS workers. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to saving lives is truly inspiring. And yet, my heart is filled with utter contempt for the politicians who partied while they handed billions to their donors and cronies for faulty PPE. Thank you, NHS, for all that you do. You are the true definition of heroes. Let's continue to demand accountability from those in power 🙏🏽
