In 2024, I completed my Bachelor of Engineering in IT. After graduation, I wasn’t getting a job. Life was not hard financially. We had food, our farm, and enough to survive even if I stayed at home without a job. My parents never taunted me. They never asked, Why are you still unemployed? But still… it hurt. I used to stay awake till late night, solving coding questions on LeetCode and GFG, studying day and night, trying my best silently. I even got an internship as a Generative AI Engineer, but deep inside I knew I wasn’t enjoying coding anymore. So I left and switched to another domain. Today I opened my old notes, and one line made me emotional. I had written: “Whenever relatives or neighbours asked what Rutu is doing now, Papa used to feel sad saying she is still searching for a job.” That line broke me. Only then I realised how important it feels to stand on your own feet after graduation. Not because your family will stop feeding you. Not because you’ll stay hungry. But because the way society looks at an unemployed graduate hurts silently. Even my mom used to say: It’s okay, you’ll get a job. Don’t take stress. Even if you don’t get one, we have enough farm and land. Relax. But somewhere inside me, I had decided: No matter what happens, I will get a job. I want to earn my own money. And thankfully, God had better plans for me. From May to September 2024, I kept studying without seeing results. Then finally, in September 2024, I got a good-paying internship. Today I’m happy. But honestly, my parents are happier than me. Life taught me one thing: Timing matters. Sometimes things take time, but that doesn’t mean they’ll never happen. So if you are struggling right now, please don’t lose hope. Your hard days are not permanent. Keep going quietly. One day your parents will proudly say, “She did it.” "he did it " ❤️
