Getting a new project off the ground can feel chaotic at first. Nothing is clear yet. No structure, no plan, no idea where to start. I will usually talk to key stakeholders 1 on 1 and get a rough idea about the problem. Then a pre-kick-off meeting needs to happen. I invite some of those key stakeholders to a quick meeting and initiate it with questions. Questions I already share in the agenda of the meeting. This way we all can think about answers to those questions in advance and come to the meeting prepared. And, it also takes away the uncertainty of how to start the meeting. We will simply discuss the questions. More will usually follow. That's when you can start with outlining a concept, plan, project goal, etc. So, the steps I take to cut through the fog of project initiation are: • Go talk to key stakeholders 1 on 1 • Invite them to a pre-kick-off meeting • List some key questions in the agenda of that meeting • Collect discussion points and potentially more questions • Go plan out the whole thing Get comfortable with not seeing a clear path forward at the beginning. Work your way step-by-step to a plan.

4) Review if it's worthwhile to complete the task: What do I gain from completing this task? How important is this task for me personally? What are the benefits to me and others of completing it? Can I set a reward for myself so that the task seems meaningful to me? Which one?

The only new year's resolution you need to commit to in 2025: Be less stressed. You will get further in your work and projects. You will be happier and more content. You will be in a calmer state of mind. Less will through you out of balance. This is what causes stress:

We all know what it is we need to do. Brutal but true. But why don't we do it? Because: It's scary to challenge one's own identity. Take a step back. Write the 3-5 things on a blank piece of paper that hold you back from real personal growth. It might be an uncomfortable conversation that you put off for years. It might be to say goodbye to one of your project to fully focus on another. It might be to eat more salad than fast food. Whatever it is, you know it already. Then do one small step towards working on it. That's all you need to do today. You'll find that it doesn't hurt as much as you thought. Respect yourself to address what brings you growth. Brutal but true.

Endless to do-lists are death to your productivity. Focus on one day at a time to gain momentum with the 3-2-1-Post-It-Hack: Three tasks max ...because focus is key (as well all know 😅). Two minutes per task ...is all the time that you need to get going. One post-it at a time ...is where you capture your tasks for today. Bonus tips: Circle what you tackle first and write your tasks as if you already achieved them. If you want to build momentum in completing tasks, consider diving deeper into the framework I just summarized: stoicvalue.substack.com/p/an-entire-pr…

Being productive isn't a magical thing that only successful people can achieve. There is a recipe to it: In a nutshell: The three easiest or most important or urgent tasks, two minutes per task of effort, all on one post-it. The important thing is to get moving, to start building momentum towards completing tasks. Read all about it here: open.substack.com/pub/stoicvalue…

Productivity starts with action, not motivation. This is how you can get into action: Apply my 3-2-1-Post-It-Hack. • 3 tasks: either they're easy, important or urgent - it doesn't matter. • 2 minutes: that's the minimum you ought yourself to work on each task. • 1 Post-it: non-digital, limited space, old-school and sticking around 😅 That's all you need to get cracking. Get from procrastination to checking off those open items on your to-do list. Read about the entire productivity framework in less than 3 minutes 👇
