When I worked at @GameStop in the early 90's, the people there built entire lives off those jobs. The guy running video games had three kids, coached little league every weekend, and retired after 32 years with a pension. One of the women in customer service bought her first house working full-time there, and the older guy in electronics took the same vacation to the Ozarks every summer because he could actually afford to unplug for a week.
The managers knew everybody by name, the Christmas bonuses actually meant something, and the store was packed every holiday season because business was booming. Nobody thought they were "stuck" working retail - it was honest work that paid enough to live with dignity.
Somewhere along the way, corporations started making record profits while the people keeping the place running could barely afford rent.
When exactly did a steady full-time job stop being enough to build a normal life?

According to local news outlets like KWTX:
- large brawl broke out at the recreation area, which is located on Fort Hood (post) property in Texas.
-Military police (MPs) responded to break up the fight.
-Multiple rounds were fired during the confrontation.
-Video obtained by KWTX shows people running away, with an off-camera voice yelling “They shot him! Oh my God! They shot him!” An MP is seen pursuing individuals into a parking lot and firing several rounds at one person (it is unclear if that individual was hit).
-Cars were heard speeding away from the scene.
-There are reports of multiple injured individuals arriving at a Temple-area hospital. Authorities were working to confirm whether those injuries were connected to the BLORA shooting.
-Officials stated there is no active threat at this time, and investigations are underway.
