@norveclifinance DeepSeek has been incredibly disruptive since its initial release, and I really appreciate that. However, we still lack the exact numbers to accurately estimate the actual task execution times and efficiency ratios of DS4 Pro compared to GPT-5.5 or Claude Opus 4.7.

DeepSeek just popped the American AI bubble. Not by killing AI. By killing the fantasy of unlimited AI pricing power. DeepSeek V4 Pro: Input: $0.435 per 1M tokens Output: $0.87 per 1M tokens OpenAI GPT-5.5: Input: $5.00 Output: $30.00 Claude Opus 4.7: Input: $5.00 Output: $25.00 Claude Sonnet 4.6: Input: $3.00 Output: $15.00 DeepSeek is roughly: 11.5x cheaper than GPT-5.5 on input 34.5x cheaper than GPT-5.5 on output 28.7x cheaper than Claude Opus on output 17.2x cheaper than Claude Sonnet on output If a model is “good enough” at 1/20th or 1/30th the cost, margins will compress faster than Wall Street expects. AI is not dead. But the AI bubble just lost its pricing power. $NVDA $MU $AMD $SMCI $AVGO $ARM $MSFT $GOOGL $META $AMZN $ORCL $PLTR $CRWV $NBIS #AI #DeepSeek #AIBubble #ArtificialIntelligence #Semiconductors #HBM #DRAM #Nvidia #Micron #AMD #TechStocks #Nasdaq #StockMarket #Investing #WallStreet #YapayZeka #Borsa

@marcusholtbuild @AskYoshik This is an underrated comment. We expect everything to generate profits immediately, or at least in the foreseeable future. Heavy subsidizing often gets dismissed because its long-term benefits are largely unrecognized by the general public.

@AskYoshik The ROI obsession is just 20th century accounting applied to a once-per-generation infrastructure shift. You don’t measure the ROI of laying railroad tracks while the tracks are being laid.

The AI bubble math doesn't add up. Anthropic spends $3 to make $1 and that’s before you include any and all other costs like staff or electricity. Microsoft dumped $300B in capex, made ~$18B in AI revenue. OpenAI and Anthropic alone make up 43-54% of Microsoft, Google, Amazon and Oracle's entire revenue backlogs. Enterprises are burning through annual AI budgets in 4 months with zero measurable ROI. This is the most expensive science experiment in history, funded by your SaaS subscriptions.

@AskYoshik @marcusholtbuild Well, predictability is a fickle thing. In terms of infrastructure, consider the dot-com era fiber investment: how much of it was actually utilized back then, and was it predicted at all? A massive wave of companies went bankrupt after that.

@marcusholtbuild The amount of investment made in railroad or infra is nothing in comparison to AI. AI is not predictable at all, atleast not at the current valuations

@HedgieMarkets First off, thanks for the visualization and the analysis! My main takeaways from reading the overall situation are: 1)Higher intelligence means higher costs. 2)AI middleware and LLM-wrapped apps are in big trouble. 3)The output just doesn't justify the running costs.

🦔Microsoft canceled its internal Claude Code licenses this week after token-based billing made the cost untenable, even for a company with effectively infinite cloud resources. Uber's CTO sent an internal memo warning the company burned through its entire 2026 AI budget in just four months. American AI software prices have jumped 20% to 37%, and GitHub (owned by Microsoft) is dropping flat-rate plans for usage-based billing across its products. My Take The AI subsidy era is ending in real time. The same company that put $13 billion into OpenAI and built the Azure infrastructure powering most of Anthropic's compute just looked at the bill from a competitor's coding tool and decided it was not worth paying. That is not a productivity failure on Anthropic's end. Token-based pricing is forcing every enterprise customer to confront the actual cost of running these models at scale, and the number turns out to be far higher than the flat-rate experiments suggested. This ties directly to my Gemini Flash post yesterday. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google all raised effective prices in the last six months. Enterprises that built workflows assuming AI costs would keep falling are now watching annual budgets evaporate in months. Two outcomes look likely from here. Either enterprises scale back AI usage to fit budgets, which slows the revenue ramp the labs need to justify their valuations ahead of IPOs, or the labs cut prices and absorb the losses, which makes the unit economics worse at exactly the wrong moment. Both paths land in the same place, the numbers stop working, and somebody has to take the writedown. Hedgie🤗
