I’m a diagnosed agoraphobe trapped in an abusive household. Despite 3+ years of seeking help for my disorder, my home environment—filled with constant threats, berating, verbal abuse, and a long history of physical violence—has blocked any long-lasting progress. I live in constant fear. It’s unsafe, but shelters aren’t an option for me due to my condition. I’m working with my social worker on government housing, but waitlists are up to 10 years long. I need help now. Remote jobs haven’t panned out due to my poor resume, and in-person work is limited with agoraphobia. I’ve made a little money via Twitter, but it’s nowhere near enough for rent. I’m humbly asking for public support to raise funds for a one-bedroom apartment’s first few months while I build sustainable income. This will include rent/deposit, utilities, transportation, food and other essentials. This is extremely embarrassing, but I’m out of options. I am terrified of what comes next. I’m choosing to go through Throne over GoFundMe for privacy. My small town means a public campaign could tip off family and make things much worse. Any contribution means the world.
