@Geosquare_ And even if what you said isn’t true, the sheer amount of uncertainty associated with climate change should make it magnitudes more important to regulate than something like AI. But any relationships like that (including climate change itself) should be easy to prove with physics

@Geosquare_ Which in turn disproportionately affects regions with subpar infrastructure and access to warnings…think third world countries (responsible for barely any emissions of course). The climate crisis will be the most retrospectively overlooked form of injustice stemming from the US

@WickyDubs2 It cannot be stressed enough how DOGE cuts are DIRECTLY responsible for this disaster. The San Antonio office had a vacancy since someone took a buyout on April 30th for the warning coordination meteorologist, who is well equipped to collaborate with local emergency management.

The news is trying to paint that 5 NWS employees working an emergency situation is overstaffed. Wrong. It should be at least 8-15 people. 5 people is not enough to cover the amount of tasks and massive influx of communication in emergency. The correct term is overworked.

I cannot begin to emphasize how catastrophic these cuts will be to the US' innovation economy. Basic research is the beating heart of the engine that drives American innovation and advances our quality of life. It will take _decades_ to recover from this. thebridge.agu.org/2025/05/05/tru…

@WickyDubs2 Saw that the AFD for Boston today was issued by NWS Gray, which I don’t recall seeing before. Could be the same thing that you are seeing

This is likely not the only office doing this. Anticipate more NWS offices to close soon.

Some bad news coming out of NWS Goodland. Due to low staffing issues the office will be temporarily closing operations from 2-7AM MT and having other NWS offices pick up slack and issue warnings. Unfortunately this issue will not be resolved until the hiring freeze is over.

Words cannot describe how much contempt this makes me feel. He should not be within a 10 foot pole of any health department after this statement, or any of his anti-vax endeavors

.@SecKennedy on autism: "This is an individual tragedy as well. Autism destroys families but more importantly it destroys our greatest resource, which are our children...we have to recognize we are doing this to our children and we need to put an end to it."

@ecobaronen Gut seems considerably better than anything else in this pack, upheaval and workshop are strong too but a bit committal. I might also be underrating bristly bill but I can't see it being better than Gut

@ecobaronen gotta be gut I think. Has higher ceiling and flexibility (in terms of viable decks) than pride imo. Snuff out and TTB are a notch below these two

@ecobaronen Probably sneak attack over ragavan, if you get it this early you’re pretty likely to get one of the best targets. Small chance you wheel ulamog too (though you could say the same about inti for ragavan)

@ecobaronen Very tough between force and fable. Probably going with fable though to stay more open, probably wont wheel the converter but that’s fine
