Karol Nawrocki in 2023: "I recognize that Ukrainians have the right to choose their own heroes, whether they consider Stepan Bandera (leader of Ukrainian resistance during WW2) or Roman Shukhevych (Commander of UPA) to be heroes. Poles will not be choosing the namesakes for Ukrainian streets." What changed since 2023? Ukraine is united and strong despite some Europeans' attempts to stalemate the war to keep Ukraine weak and unstable, and is developing initiative on the battlefield against Russia. Ukraine's domestic military production is booming. Ukraine is becoming self-sufficient. Nawrocki is a Polish nationalist and a Kremlin asset who is threatened by Ukraine's strength. Poland and Ukraine are neighbors, naturally, they have fought countless wars against each other throughout the bloody European history. Poland has numerous statues to Poles who massacred Ukrainians, like Stefan Czarniecki, who is literally celebrated in the Polish national anthem. You don't see Ukrainians complaining about it. As for "helping" with Ukrainian refugees - Ukraine lost millions of capable, highly-educated, productive people who fled because Europe refused to prevent the invasion of Ukraine. Europe expected Ukraine to collapse in a matter of weeks. All Poland, or any other NATO member had to do was send a few brigades to Ukraine for training and Russia would not have invaded. Instead the US and every single European country ensured Russia understood that Ukraine was alone and abandoned. The Europeans then opened their arms and gobbled up the millions of fleeing Ukrainians to grow their economies and productivity, making Ukraine even weaker.
