My disdain for piscine wyverns is not over Cephadrome - genuinely one of if not THE worst fight in the series Plesioth - good solely because of the memes. hilariously the size of safi’jiiva Beotodus - you’re fine you can stay but your flying cousin has a better design👇

Ok I know I said all monster hunter designs were 10/10 but I take it back. Jyruatodus is awful. Lavasioth is an inferior Agnaktor (with a horrible fight in World, bearable in Generations) and piscine wyverns are totally obsolete with the introduction of leviathans. Good bye

@livio_art @Ada2987_art However Astalos’ fight is probably one of my favourites in the entire series, so I’m biased against it. The fight in rise is good, but in Generations 😮‍💨 SO good Valstrax is so absurd but it is undeniably 10/10 in cool factor

@livio_art @Ada2987_art Wait I change my mind I DONT like jyruatodus and by extension lavasioth. Lava has molten armour, ok cool, but Agnaktor does it better and the design is S tier. Jyrua is the most inferior piscine wyvern. (but cephadrome is a close second LOL) I’m a plesioth apologist 🫡

@Ada2987_art I’ve reached enlightenment realizing every monster is genuinely 10/10 and fits its niche. There is no monster design/philosophy/ecology that is bad. Also, where are people’s whimsy? Realistic + mythological are BOTH so good

@strayedtiger Its the case of two groups activating at different times. When monster is crazy its the "it needs to be animal" gang and when its just animal, its the "it needs to be crazy" gang.... both are equally annoying

I should also clarify, I’m talking about the double standards shown by MH fans when it comes to designs: people don’t like them when it looks too much like the animal it’s representing, but then also don’t like when the design DOESN’T represent the animal it “should” be…?

And uh before anyone takes this and runs, this is just a friendly discussion and observation. I just feel it is unfair to nitpick designs when there are so many other things that are represented within MH’s designing philosophy. They’re not BS designs, they all have meaning.

@GregorHunt3 I love the monkeys! Kecha Wacha is one of my favs, there’s never a shortage of monkeys. That’s why I love both designs here. And you’re so right about the nose, it’s like his lil nose was pet and worn down over time :)
