StreamElements raised ~ $120M total and is shutting down. Now we know where the money went. - 25% to salaries (no problem here, labor is often the highest cost for a business and people deserve to be paid) - 25% to server hosting (AWS etc, again yes expensive) - 50% to the BOS system.... ~50M dedicated to funding a predictive advertising tool. They placed a 50% bet on a new, unproven tech for the streaming industry (probably to attract VC) People saying they built the same thing for $250k. This comment makes a great point: fan crowdfunding won't resolve the underlying financial issues for SE. Sounds like they made a big, fancy bet.. advertisers pulled away from Twitch due to bots.. and that was an existential problem for SE Not sure how I feel about this yet... Businesses need to place bets but 50% is massive. And we still can't know for sure where that money went or how it was spent. We never will. Hard to know what is real and bad management vs. unpredictable risk. Don't love it.

So I have been working on transferring assets (because I was noticing that StreamElements was being weird anyways and this made a lot of sense), so here are some things I recommend that I use: - Twitch Alerts (Twitch only alerts, but I can make customizable alerts in the settings with no issues) - MixItUp (I have played with LOTS of things with channel points, the bot system, etc. that I plan to just integrate even more after my 2.0 debut) - Aitum (This is my multistreaming platform. Still working on fixes but I think my issues have been SE Live and OBS just acting weird each other and this has fixed now) - Lumia Stream (I've been playing with the Overlays feature on this today and it is almost exactly like SE but with upgraded features. Been having a lot of fun with it.) I plan to work on some videos on quite a bit of these topics as I play around with making new stream components so if you have any questions, please let me know! I have tried Streamer.bot but I feel like I need to have a Ph.D to use it T__T. Also StreamLabs still is a headache with CPU usage.
