Just had my medic student tell me he doesn’t need to understand cardiac axis because he’s “never going to use it and I don’t think medics should even have the scope of practice that they do to begin with”.
Also he’s told me he’s premed at least three times today already.

@stricklypeter Weirdly common call type I encounter lol, but they’re not peds … usually a 33 yo m “vomiting blood” at 2am.

My favorite thing is finding a pre med explaining the mcat on TikTok and saying a sub 500 is basically failing and you can’t apply with that and mcat studying is more important than experience…I cackle at my 498 and my friend at the top of my class with their 497.

@olsonplanner We have a handful of optional lunchtime lectures each semester put on by the financial aid staff. There’s one financial aid staff member who has his office in the med school in the same wing as the professors and academic advisors, he’s got an open door policy for any questions
