The Portrait Puppies are back and they’re so excited to be with students again! They love helping teach all about the Portrait of a Talbot competencies. Today, they had a blast watching the competencies at work in a mystery building activity! 🐾 @Hampton_Talbots

It’s GLOWING shapes in second grade!! Students rotated through a variety of activities exploring both 2D and 3D shapes! @Hampton_Talbots

Second graders participated in a carousel walk around the room, reading various quotes by Fred Rogers. They each chose a quote they could relate to and then shared the connection they made with the class. @Hampton_Talbots

Second graders at Central have been exploring what plants need to grow. They had the opportunity to harvest their crops today and created a healthy snack to recreate at home!! @Hampton_Talbots

We are celebrating #NationalParkWeek by learning about the beauty and wonders of several national parks. Students researched national parks, chose their favorite and then wrote an opinion writing piece stating their reasons why this park is the best! @dacia92 @Hampton_Talbots

Can we turn a liquid into a solid in our very own classroom?!? Second graders at Central explored this question by making ice cream in a bag!! It was a yummy success!! 🍨 @Hampton_Talbots

Our 2nd grade Fraction Pizzeria was busy filling pizza orders today!! They earned ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for quality and service!! 🍕 👨🏽‍🍳

Ending the week with some fraction fun! 🏀 Students recorded the shots they made and then compared their fractions with a partner. 🏀 @Hampton_Talbots

Central’s second grade Rounding Restaurant was a success!! Students applied their mental math and rounding skills to successfully pay their dinner bill! 🍽️ @Hampton_Talbots

Students planned and carried out an investigation collaboratively to answer the question: Can we make two objects with different properties from the same materials? @Hampton_Talbots

Students worked collaboratively and persevered to complete this challenge. They communicated clearly with their partner and showed empathy toward others around the classroom. Most importantly…they had a great mindset to achieve success. #portraitofatalbot @Hampton_Talbots
