The Resusci Anne Connection: ​In the mid-1980s, Michael Jackson and his brothers took a CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification course. During the training, they practiced on the world's most famous medical manikin: Resusci Anne (also known as "CPR Annie"). ​When you find an unconscious person, the very first step in the first-aid protocol is to check for responsiveness. Trainees are taught to shake the dummy's shoulders and shout: "Annie, are you okay?" ​Jackson was so struck by the rhythmic repetition of the phrase during his class that it stayed in his head.
