@VinoViews@NickThurDon@doughtagnan@midweekwines@jimofayr@TheWineKiwi@colinonwine Hi Dave, it certainly is a solid wine and the Penfolds stable just go up in quality from there and I’ve had the privilege of trying Kalimna, Bin 389, the incredible St. Henri and even Grange. But I love the fact that Koonunga is affordable but without confected sweetness too
@Photos_in_Chile No, but financial reality and having a 9yr old probably means it won’t make the priority list when most travel these days involves visiting Aus. I had a romanticised notion of living in Havana for six months and writing
I´ve been to Cuba 3 times. Such a beautiful country. One thing I always notice is the cars. These fabulous old cars, hand painted and held together with wire and nails. A unique car culture. All because of the silly embargo. Time some of the adults involved grew up a little.
@VinoViews@JamesHubbard113@BGazeley The Vinorium - at £15 ish this is entry level for their business but boy have we had success with the more special options from them - we buy a mixed dozen and make them last a year
This 2017 Heathcote (Victorian) blend is stunning. A Vinorium import and remarkably fresh with a touch of bottle age and a funky blend of Shiraz, Malbec and Cab Sav and a hefty 14.8% alc. Its very very good
Côte de boeuf and gratin dauphinois tonight. These two were totally different and yet equally phenomenal. Beautiful, beautiful wines.
Subtlety, length and sheer class will always trump point-chasing, one-dimensional brashness.

@WineMan147@wine_australia Aw, very envious and hope you had some great wine with great people. So much more to Aus wine than £6 supermarket offerings as you well know
