Hedgerow flowers of the Barthomley area #6 Feverfew - tanacetum parthenium in full flower. Found this splendid example in the gateway of one of the Duchy of Lancaster estate cottages designed in the 1860s by W E Nesfield for Lord Crewe's estate workers.

@RCrawford67322 @Larkspurr44 I might have a copy in Alsager — will check
English

@studio100a @Larkspurr44 I've not heard of her before. I'm sure it's very interesting but I do very little reading nowadays. Tempus fugit and I have too much yet left to do. Thanks for the tip though. I might see if the local library has a copy.

Depave this! And thousands more like it! The excellent Landscape Architecture Foundation has awarded a $25,000 research grant to habitat biologist Ted Labbe, and landscape architect Mary Pat McGuire, from Depave, to draw up a plan.

Staffordshire Day itself may have passed but a House of Commons marketplace exhibition and themed roundtables, the launch of the Staffy public art trail and a new ‘Made in Staffordshire’ quality accreditation scheme show the world that our creative county’s cultural and social-economic credentials extend far beyond its magic-making theme park.

@fslconsult @PitchPublishing @MinxyOwl @footyheritage @StanchionBooks We’ve got a nice street for a game down here.
In Alsager dialect — if I remember right— football was called “togga”.

@RCrawford67322 @Larkspurr44 Are you familiar with Romantic Moderns by Alexandra Harris ?
English

@Larkspurr44 Love the distant view of the Wittenham Clumps and that Paul Nash might once have walked on Blewburton Hill and enjoyed the same view.

Respect to @tomburgis & Guardian team for this solid - & exceptionally difficult to publish - effort to shine a light on Reform’s biggest funder, a highly litigious crypto billionaire who is currently suing @WSJ

A mystery moneyman's donations could carry Nigel Farage to power. He lives in Thailand and is “intensely private”. I’ve spent months investigating who he is, what he wants and his crypto fortune. Here, for the first time, is the story of Chris Harborne theguardian.com/politics/2026/…

@RCrawford67322 @sallydjbarley If at some point in the co-evolution of dog and man that there was selective breeding for guarding geese and swans from foxes then I suspect Rexy is carrying the gene.
General bird dogs could be deployed in domestic settings to protect garden birds from cats or hens from foxes
English

@sallydjbarley Yes, indeed the swan hissed at us but didn't leave the nest. I couldn't see if she was on eggs. Rexy is really good around wild animals. I think he takes his cue from me when I stand still and just watch an animal in complete silence he stands close by me w/out making a sound.

Not unbelievable, sadly, but deeply connected. My entire body of work for a decade has been intersection of tech bro impunity, foreign interference & political capture. Attacks on the press are central to this. It’s why they came for me & why I know fighting back is so KEY.
Lindsey Hilsum@lindseyhilsum
Unbelievable that a man who spent US$75m on a film no-one wants to see about Melania Trump has just fired almost all the foreign correspondents on the newspaper he owns. You might think nothing was happening in this world. @JeffBezos @washingtonpost #SaveThePost
