The activities encouraged an element of upcycling/reimagining old items into new and treasured ones. One young person expressed its “a way of encouraging and embracing everyone’s individual taste in clothing” and “much better than buying something off the rack in Primark!”

Our second term we had two artists Griffi & Shanayah deliver a Visual Arts upcycle project that explores exciting ways of making, designing and creating fashion masterpieces centred around the concept of upcycling.

We have continued our second year of our Big Deal: Marks Gate’ project for North Meets South and we have just completed our second term of activities at Warren Secondary School.

Throwback to last Thursday where two young people from our Big Deal youth arts programme Eri & Rome - were invited to the @JPFoundation Regional Awards to collect their Achievement Awards. Congratulations to you both!

The piece was a celebration of popular black music that has inspired dance throughout the years. Lead artists Tama Ahmet and Claire Hough worked collaboratively with the young people to create the piece. Thank you for inviting us and well done to all other acts.
