The Egyptian Network For Human Rights stated that it had documented the death of a Sudanese citizen inside the detention facility of the Agouza Police Station in Giza Governorate, just a day after his detention on grounds of not having a valid residency permit, pointing out that the death occurred amid severe overcrowding and harsh detention conditions. It also stated that more than 40 people were being held in cramped rooms, leading to cases of suffocation!! Noting that the incident happened just days after the deaths of other Sudanese individuals inside detention facilities, also these cases raise growing concerns regarding the conditions of the detainees and their safety.
