As I JUST discovered, while we've been having fun unmasking a lot of accounts that purport to be American, the situation is a bit more alarming for the Japanese. A number of Ryukyu Islands independence movement accounts have been unmasked as Chinese. I've seen some note that Chinese citizens can't make accounts on Twitter/X, meaning these are likely a psyop by the CCP. Remember just a few days ago the ruckus over people claiming "everything Japanese is Chinese" and I said it sounds like they might be taking pages from Putin in making claims of historical ownership of other countries as a pretext for invading them? Well, I saw a Tweet from a Japanese politician saying that Chinese authorities bluntly told her they aim to take the Ryukyu Islands. If/when China makes their move on Taiwan, Japan will very likely be next.
