היום, ה-29 בדצמבר, אנחנו מציינים יום הולדת שלוש לממשלת החורבן. שלוש שנים מאז שנשבעתם אמונים, ומיד התחלתם להפר אותם אחד אחד. אז לכבוד המאורע, ולמקרה שהמוח שלכם הדחיק טראומות כדי לשרוד, הכנתי סיכום קצר. תקציר המנהלים של האפוקליפסה. זוכרים איך הכל התחיל? לא ביוקר המחיה, לא באיראן, לא בביטחון האישי. זה התחיל עם יריב לוין ומסיבת העיתונאים החמוצה בהיסטוריה. שנה שלמה שבזבזנו על ״עילת הסבירות״. זוכרים את רוטמן צורח באוזניים של אנשים? את גלית דיסטל מסבירה לנו שאנחנו חייזרים? את שרה נצורה במספרה בכיכר המדינה, אירוע שהוגדר כפיגוע אסטרטגי חמור יותר מהגרעין האיראני? שנה שלמה צרחתם עלינו שאנחנו אנרכיסטים, מוגלה, ובעלי רולקסים (הלוואי, אני עדיין עם קסיו), בזמן שגלנט פוטר בשידור חי כי העז להגיד שהאויב מריח חולשה. ספוילר: גלנט צדק. אבל העיקר שמירי רגב אמרה ״אז יורים על אשקלון״. ואז הגיע אוקטובר. היום שבו ״מר ביטחון״ הפך ל״מר לא משכו בדש מעילי״. הממשלה שהבטיחה ״משילות״ נעלמה לדממת אלחוט של שבועיים, והשאירה אותנו עם האחים לנשק (הבוגדים, זוכרים?) שינהלו את המדינה. קיבלנו את בן גביר מחלק נשקים כמו סוכריות טופי, את סמוטריץ' מנהל כלכלה בעזרת השם (תרתי משמע), ואת נתניהו שמסביר לנו שחמאס מורתע דקה לפני שהתעוררנו לגיהנום. שנתיים שלמות של ״ניצחון מוחלט״ סיסמה ריקה מתוכן שנועדה למכור לנו שקרים בזמן שהצפון ננטש והפך לרצועת ביטחון בתוך ישראל, והחטופים נמקים במנהרות בזמן שהשרים שלהם טסים לניו יורק ומיאמי. השנה האחרונה הייתה אולי הגרועה מכולן. כי התרגלנו. התרגלנו ששרת התחבורה עסוקה בטקסים בזמן שאין רכבות. התרגלנו ששרת ההתיישבות, אורית סטרוק, אומרת ש״אין רעב״ ושצריך להודות על הנסים, בזמן שאנשים קורסים כלכלית. התרגלנו למכונת רעל שעובדת 24/7 כדי להאשים את הטייסים, את הרמטכ"ל, את ביידן, את נועה קירל – את כולם, חוץ מאת האיש שעומד בראש. חוק הגיוס? כי למה שרק הפראיירים ימותו? בואו נסבסד עוד קצת השתמטות בזמן שמילואימניקים קורסים תחת האלונקה שנשברה מזמן. והכלכלה? דירוג האשראי צלל כמו פופולריות של בן גביר בקרב מפכ"לים, אבל היי, לפחות ״כנף ציון״ טס נהדר. תודה לכם, ממשלת ה-64. תודה שהזכרתם לנו שאין תחתית לחבית. תודה שהוכחתם שציניות היא לא רק תכונה, היא מדיניות. תודה שלימדתם אותנו ש״אחריות״ היא מילה גסה, ו״אשמה״ היא תמיד של מישהו אחר. היום יום הולדת שלוש. נשאר לנו רק לקוות שלא נגיע לגיל ארבע. כי בקצב הזה, לא יישאר פה מי שיכבה את האור (וגם אם כן, בדיוק תהיה הפסקת חשמל כי אף אחד לא דאג לתשתיות). מזל טוב, מדינת ישראל. שרדת עוד שנה. זה הניצחון המוחלט האמיתי.

Dogmatic approaches are a very real problem. Pair programming can work extremely well for SOME people in SOME contexts. If you make it part of your team ethos, at least be up front and deliberate about it: hire accordingly, get mentorship/coaching, and have empathy for your team!

Important: Apple has released macOS Sonoma 14.4.1, which addresses the issue with JVM applications crashing unexpectedly (x.com/jetbrains/stat…). We have tested it with our IDEs and are no longer observing the undesired behavior. If you are on macOS Sonoma 14.4, we recommend upgrading to 14.4.1 if possible.
