The Kazakh community and Kazakh Engenes have the right to feel upset; advocating to have Jungwon educated on the topic is a very important matter. Though it could be a mistake, it could be mere coincidence, Jungwon still needed to be made aware of the weight of wearing the character's face on the shirt as it is a very sensitive topic to the Kazakh community, linked to harmful stereotypes and offending Kazakhstan as a whole. It is a very commendable action that Jungwon has already apologized and made it clear that he had no idea about the offensive indications of the shirt. We would like to bring attention to Belift's lack of competency in this case as well. We feel that the company should have been aware of the controversy surrounding the character of Borat; having such a global reach should have given reason for their knowledge of the matter. We therefore would like part of the responsibility to fall on them too. However, we would like to ask people to refrain from hating Jungwon for having not been aware of the sensitivity of the controversy of the shirt and the character. It is very important that he is educated on the matter, but it should be done on the grounds of respect, excluding hateful speeches. Now that he has apologized, we hope everyone can understand his mistake and take notice of his acknowledgment of the matter. Thank you for Jungwon for being a responsible leader of ENHYPEN, for not allowing the topic to simmer for long and for taking the steps to apologize to those he may have upset. We would love to see an apology issued by Belift as well, due to their incompetence in not realizing the issue in advance, but we are aware that is something that will possibly not happen.
