Saying allat just to reveal you didn't really understand the film... Okay
WRESTLETALES@wrestletaleszay

[SPOILER ALERT 🚨 : #OBSESSION] "Nikki is the real villain!" "Bear is the real villain!" Y'all didn't get what the movie is about. It's not about either of them being good or evil. BEAR's journey is an allegory for how people settle for *any* love that they're willing to get it from someone they don't necessarily love. If Bear loved Nikki, he wouldn't have taken away her autonomy. Just like in real life, this ends up costing him everything and by the end he's running away from something he impulsively settled for. NIKKI's journey is an allegory about how obsessed people are driven by this unknown force that compels them to, well, obsess. From stalking, to spamming, to never letting go. The whole One Wish Willow is an allegory for how unreasonable the motivation behind obsession is. Just like how nonsensical the concept of "One Wish Willow" sounds, the concept of you being obsessed with this person because there's some "magical reason" underneath is just as nonsensical. If Nikki was an obsessive girlfriend from the beginning, you would've just seen as her that. But using the Monkey's Paw trope (1902, W.W Jacobs) the writer makes you empathise with Nikki and relate to her. The lesson from this movie isn't gendered or some sort of feminist message about male entitlement. If that's what you get out of it, you're a lost cause.

Oh please! He made a wish from a $7 toy lol y'all are talking as if he made a wish using the infinity stone. This is what also makes his character interesting, his actions before making that wish makes him human, but everything he did after makes him a monster.

people saying bear is innocent bc he didn’t know the wish was gonna turn out like that…. did yall not watch fairly odd parents growing up? do you not know the reason timmy wasn’t allowed to wish for trixie to love him? it’s inhumane to strip one’s anatomy away, it’s in the rules

kapag regularly ka nagco-commute, doon mo talaga makikita how much the Filipino people deserve a government that protects and serves. palaging maging vocal sa mga issues dito sa bansa dahil palaging lumalaban nang patas ang mga Pilipino.

There was a specific scene here that's really, really creepy, and I thought I'd seen it before; then I realized it was a direct reference to Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Pulse. In fact, I think the film was so heavily inspired by it that it perfectly emulated the unsettling atmosphere.

It’s curious how often Hereditary gets talked about as the film that started the current trend in horror cinema when that trend had already been in full swing for years by that point. The real trendsetter was arguably The Babadook, but the trend started even earlier than that
