met a girl at a wedding. ego checked her about her lux support. she gave me her number anyway. took her to sushi. she held her chopsticks with precision. good mechanics. then we duo queued. and that's where i saw the real her. she knows where i'm going before i ping it i start walking toward a fight and she's already pathing to meet me. i set up a split push and she's already warding that side of the map without me asking. i want to dive and she's holding her binding like she read my mind 3 seconds ago. most supports play the game. she plays around ME. there's a difference. we're 2v5 and she's in my ear saying "we win this. turn." full confidence. no hesitation. not a question. a statement. most people see 5 enemies and run. she sees 5 enemies and tells ME to stop running. i tell her we need to sit in a bush and wait. most players last 10 seconds before they get impatient and walk out. she will sit in that bush with me for as long as it takes. silent. patient. not moving. just waiting for the perfect moment to strike like we're hunting together she gets hooked by their thresh and any other support player panics. flashes out. burns every cooldown trying to escape. she says "turn. i'm hitting my binding" and she hits it. every time. that's not just a support player. that's someone who trusts herself AND trusts me enough to know i'll follow up and it's leaking outside of the game too she already memorized my sushi order. knows i like my bubble tea with no sugar. sends me clips of plays she's proud of small things. quiet things. the kind of things you don't notice until you realize nobody's ever done them before. i wasn't looking for a duo. but i think the duo found me.
