Earlier today in my hometown, Maradun LGA of Zamfara State, I had the honour of leading thousands of our loyal party members in affirming His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR as the sole candidate of our great party, APC, for the 2027 presidential election. This collective decision reflects our confidence in his purposeful leadership and the remarkable efforts being made to reposition Nigeria towards sustainable growth, national stability, and renewed prosperity. As a Member of the Federal Executive Council and former Governor of the state, I remain steadfast in my support and fully committed to working with fellow stakeholders to deliver the highest votes for Mr. President in the 2027 general election.

Yesterday, I was in Amman, Jordan, where I met with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, Major General Yousef A. Alhnaity. On behalf of the Government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Defence Cooperation and Intelligence Sharing. The MoU signed seeks to strengthen our cooperation, particularly as the security threats confronting Nigeria continue to evolve in complexity, asymmetric, and cross-border by nature. This agreement reflects the commitment of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to a “bottoms-up approach” aimed at ensuring peace, security, and stability across Nigeria.

As we conclude SAHA Expo 2026 today, one of the foremost international platforms for the defence, aerospace, and industrial sectors, Nigeria is honoured to have engaged with global industry leaders, partners, and defence stakeholders from across the world. As part of our engagements at the B2B sessions of SAHA 2026, I met with the Secretary Defence Industries of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, we discussed on bilateral cooperation in defence and security, capacity-building initiatives, technology transfer, and strategic collaborations aimed at enhancing our mutual operational capabilities. In view of the evolving security landscape across the African continent, our discussions further underscored the critical importance of multidimensional partnerships in promoting regional stability, strengthening collective resilience, and advancing a shared vision for global security. I also visited several exhibition stands, including Nigeria’s indigenous defence company, DICON-D7G, alongside MKE and other leading defence manufacturers showcasing cutting-edge innovations and advanced military technologies. Yesterday in Gusau, I was at the APC Stakeholders meeting with other party chieftains at the Zamfara State Government House in Gusau. Speaking at the meeting, I reaffirmed my support for Governor Dauda Lawal, and I also commended him for calling this important and timely meeting. We discussed issues that concern our dear state, especially insecurity and why we must put our best foot forward to ensure peace and security in Zamfara State. As Minister of State for Defence, I will work with Governor Dauda Lawal to ensure Zamfara becomes truly great. While reading the communiqué at the end of the meeting, we unanimously endorsed the leadership and reform agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as His Excellency, Dr. @daudalawal_, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State. These claims, reportedly attributed to a member of the Florida House of Representatives, are entirely false, unfounded, and devoid of credibility. It must be stated unequivocally that the Honourable Minister has never engaged in, nor would he ever condone, any act of bribery or misconduct. The allegations in question are nothing but baseless, misleading and do not reflect the conduct or record of the Honourable Minister. The Honourable Minister remains resolute and undeterred. He will not be distracted by campaigns of calumny or malicious propaganda. Yesterday, at the National Convention of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (@OfficialAPCNg), we witnessed yet another defining moment that reaffirmed our collective strength, unity, and commitment to progress. The convention was conducted in a peaceful, orderly, and transparent manner. It culminated in the successful election of members of the National Working Committee, who will steer the affairs of our party in the years ahead. I extend my warmest congratulations to our newly elected National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and all other elected officials. The responsibility before you is significant, but it equally presents a clear opportunity to consolidate unity, strengthen party structures, and position the APC for even greater victories in the future. I must also specially commend H.E Rt. Hon.
