@Gelato_kun some colors are harder to achieve via dye, like black, so then its best to buy yarn and tear it apart. for a simple design it may be cheaper overall, i am not sure, but the sheer amount of time it takes is worth considering.

@Gelato_kun id suggest making a foam base and layering it with a craft felt base color, then felting overtop of that. i didnt use that method for this head but i did for an abandoned project. the most cost effective method is to buy a large amount of white roving wool and dye it yourself
