the government spent $20.8M in taxpayer money for HYBE (a company projected to make $3.5-4B in 2026). BTS paid $61k to rent the venue, made $7.7M from Netflix, and got fast-tracked permits with officials personally visiting HYBE. taxpayers funded a billion-dollar company's promo event and they profited off public funds for a show that couldn't even fill the square. what a shame for South Korea
