Anyone else in a funk?? Soils fit to plant, but to cold and grey and wind blowing like it’s Kansas. Crop plan is done, like I’m beyond itching to get going. I want to start walking fields.

Vegas was built because few quit while they're ahead...usually only when blood shed hits a point. Our corn production systems are like a fake casino that gives just enough chips to keep selling $14 well drinks. We're less than a decade away for it to look identical to pork. You provide the building (land, equipment) Your integrator (x, y, or z) provides the seed, fertilizer, etc... You work for an acre space rent. Problem is many people will be perfectly ok with this. That scares me 10x more than a little pain now.

@gavin_spoor 12 row, 2 trucks, 2 drivers, 1100 bu cart, good runnin not far from bin, in 250 bu corn, 135 ac is my best day. Quit at 9pm. I’ve had the same crew do 50 before too! lol. 100 ac or 25k bu is our goal every day. Some days we do, most days we don’t. 80 is our avg.

How many acres of corn do you try to harvest in one days time? Today was my personal best. Kept two trucks on their toes hauling right to the river. 9am-7pm, Could have done more if we had an auger set up to a bin. 18 year old me would be astounded!
