@krqken14 @YD20250410 Dude, if piracy is wrong, obviously stealing an artist's work is wrong, okay? I don't give a shit about the rest, I just want to maintain my argument that that comparison was wrong and out of place.
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 Why are you more obsessed with the emotional weight of the comparison rather than the actual point made?
The point is that both involve disregarding consent, which is what the artist was trying to drill in.
I mean, what’s your reasoning for believing piracy is wrong?
English

@YD20250410 @wjsehrtl @LithiumIonSoda lots of artists are fine with piracy. you're wrong.
한국어

@krqken14 @YD20250410 I don't think you're able to understand my comment. I'll explain it simply: piracy is wrong, that's obvious, and I defend the author in that regard. But for me, it's really messed up to be so ignorant to use rape and its victims in a context where it wasn't necessary.
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 Your stance is inconsistent. I don't believe you're as against piracy as you claim if you're this offended at it being compared to another crime regarding consent.
For all intents and purposes, you should be more on the artist's side than your fellow countrymen attacking them.
English

@krqken14 @YD20250410 It's not my problem; that's their discussion. I'm not and never will be in favor of stealing an artist's work, but I also won't support ignorant and insensitive comments from this same artist.
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 There are people in the replies saying that piracy is ok and that their "trash" art deserves to be stolen.
You think the author being insensitive (when they make a pretty solid point) is worse than these people who are in direct opposition to an opinion you claim to agree with?
English

@krqken14 @YD20250410 but she should apologize for using an insensitive and ignorant comparison.
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 So what's your actual gripe here?
They're saying both things are bad, real life/copyright issues which violate an individual's will.
No one is saying either is good. If you really do agree with their stance, why are you coming at them across several posts?
English

@krqken14 @YD20250410 I also support the artist; as I said, it's for my own good that she defends her work against piracy, but she can't say something like that and then pretend there won't be consequences. There were better ways, and unfortunately, it's not the first time an author is so ignorant
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 It's offensive to you, while people are defending literal crime in the form of theft against them.
I'm personally on the side of the artist, who, yes, might be a little irate that so many people think they're entitled to free art. You're nitpicking an analogy.
English

@krqken14 @YD20250410 My point is, I'm all for defending his work, seriously, but dude, he literally couldn't have used a worse example to do it. It's offensive and wrong.
English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 Yeah, I don't agree with the "what's the difference" part.
Affecting real people will always be worse.
I do agree with the rest though. You can only defend piracy if you feel artist's will in attributing monetary value to their art doesn't matter.
English

@krqken14 @YD20250410 Are you kidding me? Look at what he said and the sick comparison she made.
"Common thread among illegal readers and rapists
They disregard the rights of others.
They ignore the cries of the victims. They imagine that the victims also enjoy it.
What's the difference?"

English

@sun_3116 @YD20250410 They're comparable. Crimes, breach of consent and use (or abuse) of something (someone) you don't own.
Obviously, one involves someone’s body and autonomy, which is 100x more severe. Then again, a comparison is not a claim of equal harm. Brush up on your definitions.
