A very #important message! Those who suffer visual impairment are often the victims of dangerous driving and parking when they cannot see the vehicle on the path or road so raising awareness for this issue even just for schools will hopefully lead fewer incidents!

This needs to be address as soon as possible. We work to ensure that support is given to those with visual impairment and it's shocking that delays are being allowed that will cost someone their sight for the rest of their lives. #EyeWeek

We offer a #free #counselling service for all members to use as we understand the great toll that #SightLoss takes. Support is delivered by a severely sight impaired, qualified person-centred counsellor. To find out more call the office on 01915673939 Don't suffer alone.

The Society has now opened a new Charity Shop here in its office complex at 53, St Luke’s Terrace, Pallion, #Sunderland Come along and grab a #bargain while supporting a good cause. Donations are also accepted. The shop is open Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 3:30pm.

The #Durham Visual Support Group meet every Monday at North Road Methodist Church, Durham City between 10:30 and 12:30. So come and have a warm brew and a chat! Speakers are brought in and you don't want to miss out on possible trips! Contact for info: dvsg2018@outlook.com

It's great to see such a serious issue being given the representation it needs. #mentalhealth is an issue that affects us all, but in particular, those with visual impairment can suffer considerably more. So it's fantastic that this is being raised. #blind

@RNIB @guidedogs @SunderlandEcho Not a widely known condition, #CBS causes visually impaired people to hallucinate things that aren't there. These can range from harmless to terrifying and many people could be suffering silently so please spread awareness so we can help combat this condition.
