I read Sajjid Chinoy's piece today, and some of the things are on the lines of what he has spoken to me through the years. Its a good time to get a reminder/refresher 'course'. Here's a short thread on his latest take. Hope its useful - (1/6) The world is no longer going through temporary turbulence. Trade wars, geopolitical conflicts & AI disruption are the new normal. For India, the question isn't if shocks will come — it's how ready are we when they do?

"I saw AI working in India's Uttar Pradesh. Illiterate women farmers can take a photo of a disease on a leaf and an app will tell them how to kill it. PM Modi was talking about small AI and I want to do this with the world's emerging markets," says World Bank President Ajay Banga

@Iamsamirarora @drallenbaby @safiranand Its the easiest thing to do..extrapolate and arrive at numbers. This is not a BAU scenario and once the dust settles down, crude will too. Temporary hit for sure, no one can deny that

I enjoy very much how economists analyze: Oil is up $50. India imports 5 million per day. This is US$ 250 m extra per day or US$ 7.5 billion per month. How will India make up for annual US$ 90 billion extra outflow? Imagine if investors did analysis like this. Stock A is up 0.5% today. That means it will be up 11% this month and some 115% in next 12 months. I am not even considering compounding in this. What will I do when I make so much return- I better book my new car right now.

What hurts the most isn't just the lack of concern for the safety of people with drivers like these—it's the utter disrespect shown to the vehicle, a machine built to perform and protect when treated right.☺️

SIP book before Covid 8000 cr Now 25000 cr No of demats before Covid ~ 5 cr Now 17 cr Almost 70% investors in markets have come post Covid. This is their first experience of correction. It’s collective responsibility of MFDs, advisors, Portfolio managers to handhold them responsibly. Few points - 5 year returns of mid n small cap index is still 27-28%.. this isn’t normal . Do not extrapolate - have 12-15% expectation over long term. - corrections r integral and usually a good time to accumulate more units/ stocks. -do goal based investing and not tip based.

You always have a primary god. The god who is prayed at home, god whose pictures are in the house, the car, office but what about the secondary gods..as Iike to call them. Gods of HEALTH, WEALTH AND TAXES. Always have them close to you.

@Sydusm Moved out of this community 4 ago after living here for 16years. Too much going on and infra here is unable to take the load. Location is awesome but school next door is a bummer too, cars create chaos. Massive construction activity on plots is another nuisance

@DhanValue She is more clueless that ever but less arrogant. Surprisingly not at all arrogant. Nut a big blow to Old people who have held on to their real estate bought thru the 70s-90s. They will stand to lose the most. They are anyhow not respected by any political party, not a vote bank

@amitgupta0310 This will surely work well for those who jave high risk appetite but unwilling / unable to invest 50L. I think this will rock, especially with better taxation and lower expenses as compared to PMS

Ivermectin and fenbendazole kill cancer. They don’t work 100% of the time because nothing so simple does, but I would take them before nuking myself with chemo. What I recommend to those willing to make drastic changes is a comprehensive and deeply personalized protocol from a close friend and colleague who regularly cures cancer in those committed enough to follow his directions.
