Why is it that you see every pro athlete, current and retired talking about this. Yet we have people out there trying to get kids to specialize as 7th and 8th graders? (Sometimes younger) Greg Olsen said it best “If a coach tells you to only play their sport and skip other seasonal sports/specialize-you should Run” A HS sophomore making their own choice I get that more (even though the data shows multi sports helps you.) But adult-coaches telling kids “you won’t play for us” or “you’re missing a chance to get seen” or telling them they can’t miss their tourn. even though it’s an outdoor sport and they’re playing the tourn. in mid January. Making kids feel like they have to come to a prax or training at 9pm after they played a full game for their HS in season sport ...smh.. It’s disgusting.
