What makes this is different from celebs passing decades ago, is that while yes this is a parasocial relationship, it wasn't all one sided. Social media allowed it to be a two way relationship between us and them, it feels like our friend has died because in a way, they did.

So many people have seen the arrows in the clouds and I just want to thank Liam for letting us know he’s safe.

Putting it out in the universe. If the boys want to finish Liam’s unreleased album and release it under One Direction. One last album, for him. We would cherish it forever.

"You didn't know him personally" true, but he was present in every aspect of our life for 14 years, we celebrated every win with him, shared every heartbreak, grew up, learned to cook, finished school, changed.. yes we will mourn with every atom of our being for as long as needed

it never occurred to me that i would have to say goodbye. today was beautiful but incredible difficult, not wanting to walk away because that meant that this was really goodbye.

so tired of those "my teen self is mourning for the 1d times" because NO. his fans, now, today, we're mourning for HIM, for Liam, for the person he was 10 years ago and the person he was 5 days ago, and it hurts to see how some of you are downplaying him to the band, once again.
