Imagine, he only trained for 10 months, and a year before participating in iland, he underwent major lung-related surgery. despite that, he still performed every stage with stability and consistency. the producers even praised him for his stable vocals and stage presence.
and even though dancing intensely was probably much harder for him compared to the other trainees because of his condition, he never once used it as an excuse to slack off or hold himself back. instead, he worked quietly behind the scenes. he constantly pushing himself to improve. there was even a time when he practiced extra hard because his parts were usually placed at the back, and he worried the camera might not catch him properly.
and his journey there as well was so hard because ilanders kept on sending him in the grounder. others even underestimated him.
so everytime I watched it makes me sob! 😭
everytime he lose, he tried to smile and everytime he won, he tried to hide his smile. yk the time when he covered his mouth to hide his smile because everyone didn't expect he placed #1?! that's why I'm so glad that our iland baragis and other people fought for him until the end and the producers chose him.
if I remember correctly, bang pd even mentioned that he was worried Sunoo might drop out in the middle of the show because of his health. But look at what happened now~
he is now Kim Sunoo of ENHYPEN. 🫂🩷
looking back, now that he mentioned his actual health issue why he underwent major surgery, it makes me so so proud. all those hardships he experienced in his trainee days, iland days, and early days as enhypen members are all worth it.
my sunoo was really really really strong. 🥺

Australia always had a special meaning for Jake, but now it honestly feels like that place became part of enhypen’s history forever. But somehow Australia also became the place where enhypen themselves were reborn. 3 days after the announcement. 3 days after people said enhypen was over. 3 days after people screamed disbandment, doomposted, and said they would never be the same again. Enhypen walked onto that Australia stage and shattered all of it. They were not broken. They were not empty. They were alive. Hungry. Emotional. Connected. Determined. And I genuinely think that stage changed something for a lot of engenes too. Because while the fandom was still drowning in grief, fear, confusion, and theories… enhypen themselves were already standing right in front of us showing the answer through their actions. And now somehow it feels even more emotional knowing Australia is also where their first variety content as a six is beginning too. Watching them laugh together, travel together, tease each other, and slowly build new memories there feels so symbolic. Australia really became the beginning of enhypen’s new chapter, and honestly it makes me so happy that it happened in a place so deeply connected to Jake and his own personal journey ❤️

he tried to smile when he lost, he tried NOT to smile when he won.
it pains me that he was still smiling and cheerful even though he was the first one to be sent to the ground, despite receiving 20 votes out of 23 trainees (the other 3 was them) and performing better than the other trainees.
and when it was his turn to win, he couldn’t even smile because the atmosphere was so awkward and silent, probably because they didn’t expect him to be ranked #1.
he went through all of that, yet his attitude never changed. he was still so bubbly that you’d NEVER think he had any struggles he was keeping to himself. 😩
